Each time this artist works on a subject, she makes a rich array of objects looking at many different aspects. Here, Abeles' study ranged as far as automated holy water dispensers, and a rose with petals turned to money: but these wistful "penny souveniers" seem to exactly convey the loss Bernadette experienced.
