My response to this is purely personal. As a child I spent what felt like ages waiting in the car while my father, a physician, saw patients at Queen of Angels Hospital. Pendlebury's photograph of this image from a TV screen captures the sense of remove, the distance I felt, in an experience both appealing and unattainable.
